GRASSROOTS REFEREE RECERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

GRASSROOTS REFEREE RECERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Details on the new U.S. Soccer Referee Pathway can be read here. If you were certified in 2017 or 2018 and your certification has lapsed, you can recertify by completing the below online only requirements. If you were a certified 2019 referee, your certification lapsed on January 1st, 2020 unless you completed the recertification process and are granted a Grassroots Referee License in your Learning Center profile.

If you attended and completed a Grassroots Entry Referee Course between July 2019 and December 2019, you do not have to recertify. You are already certified through December 31st, 2020.
Please review the Grassroots Referee Profile for general information and expectations of a Grassroots Referee.
2020 Referee badges were mailed to referees who completed all requirements by December 10th, 2019 and were granted a Grassroots Referee License in their Learning Center profile.

If you complete your online requirements after this date and are granted a Grassroots Referee License, continue to wear your 2019 Referee badge until you receive your 2020 badge in the mail. 2020 badges will be mailed at the end of each month, starting at the end of January. You can download and print your Grassroots Referee License directly from your profile in the Learning Center as proof you are certified for 2020.
